Our February 5th meeting will be an alumni panel with four amazing recent PRSSA grads. Let’s meet them!
Karrigen Hanson- Karrigen was our 2023-2024 chapter president, and is currently working at a boutique advertising agency, 116 & West, as an Account Coordinator in Boise, ID. Her responsibilities mostly consist of client communication, media relations, and concept development with designers. A lot of her work deals within the sports marketing world, as she help spearheads a lot of NIL partnerships between University of Oregon, Boise State University and Montana State University Student athletes. She also works closely with car dealerships and automotive manufacturers to do a lot of traditional advertising like email marketing, Radio/TV broadcast and print advertisements.
Maggie Delaney- Our former vice president Maggie currently works at Inkhouse PR in the Seattle office as part of their Associate Program. She mostly works in the tech space, with clients such as WatchGuard, Energize Venture Capital, PAE Engineering and SmartSheet. In her position, she follows a traditional PR track, supporting her team with client communications and media relations. Her day-to-day typically includes news scans, client agendas and action items, media lists, and more.
Michaela Taylor- Michaela served as Events Director for University of Oregon’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and contributed to Oregon Accelerator’s public relations team, managing social media audits and creating engaging content for student-athlete partners. In November 2024, she joined Travel Portland as a PR & Media Relations Coordinator. Michaela is thrilled to share Portland’s vibrant culture and unique stories with the world. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her exploring downtown or drinking 2 Towns Cider at Providence Park while rooting for the Portland Thorns
Mariah Hernandez- Mariah has an exceptional amount of public relations experience that stretches across a variety of markets including, health care, senior living, wine, music and opera, sports, lifestyle and entertainment, and public affairs and policy. With momentous drive and determination during college and post college, her accomplishments include interning for three award-winning communication teams where she gained experience in marketing, media, influencer, and government relations, publicity and talent representation, social media and website content creation, as well as corporate communications between industry leaders, government officials, and associated members.
